[2026-04-18] Canon Photomarathon 2026

Entry for the main theme ("FEEL IT")

After a 7-year hiatus, the Canon Photomarathon makes a return and opens its doors to participants of other camera brands.

1,200 people participated for this year, and this was apparently the highest number since 2014 (which had almost 2,000 participants).

However, this total is a combination of photographers of multiple brands unlike previous iterations of the competition which were limited to Canon users only.

It's worth noting that the Canon Photomarathon allows in-camera editing unlike the Camerahaus Photolympics.

Other shots that I took throughout the day.

Jay Tablante gave a talk on cosplay photography in the less than ideal circumstance of shooting under the midday sun.

After the submission of entries, participants were allowed to print their entries and up to 2 other images on 4x6-inch photo paper.

In general, the winners of the open category had more interesting images, though it's also worth noting that they were working with the theme of "BEYOND FORM" which is easier to pull off in a location like BGC whereas participants of the main category were more constrained by the theme of "FEEL IT".

There were a couple of images on the wall of prints which I felt were more interesting visually than some of the winning entries.

I was hoping to get a printer on a discount since the Pixma G2010 that I won back in 2018 is already in need of replacing. Unfortunately, they didn't have any booths for showcasing/ordering printers this time around.

However, I won a 128GB SD card from the raffle, I took a couple of pictures that I enjoyed, and some people even expressed liking my shot when it was posted on the wall of printed pictures, so it was still a pretty good day for me.
