It's interesting to note that this convention is primarily aimed at toy collectors, but they still went out of their way to gather 20 cosplayers as special guests, though this was only announced a day before the start of the event.
equipment notes:
2 lights, Godox TT350, Godox IT30 Pro (on-camera fill flash), handheld selfie stick, Canon PowerShot V1
I got the Godox iT30 Pro as an on-camera flash and trigger, which freed up my TT350 to now function as a main flash for a minimalist portrait setup.
I was using a flimsy plastic selfie stick instead of my usual light stand for giving my off-camera main flash a little more reach.
Consequently, this limits the weight of the lighting that I could attach to the other end. The bare TT350 was my only feasible option since my TT685ii would have been too heavy. This in turn also prevented me from using my usual Large Flashbender diffuser since it would habe been additional weight, and the light reduction would have further diminished the output of the TT350.
The output is ... tolerable enough if one is really constrained by event/venue rules, but the limited shooting range makes it more suitable for half-body shots rather than full-body portraits.
